Meet the vibrant duo, Farhana Bodi and Ebraheem Al Samadi — more than just stellar performers, they’re our gatekeepers to the real-life roller coaster of drama, laughter, and behind-the-scenes extravagance that makes Dubai Bling a globally adored spectacle.
Beyond the glittering facade of the show, they’re ordinary folks, friends even, offering us an exclusive peek into the authentic moments that shape their true selves. Come along as we understand the unfiltered honesty and charm that define these two dynamic personalities.
Masala: Can you tell us something new about season 2 that not many people know of? And how will that impact the group dynamic in the season?
Ebraheem: Mona Kattan is an integral part of our Dubai Bling cast, adding a valuable distinction to our team. Her presence brings a sense of calmness, peace, and love, adding a special touch to our collective dynamic. Mrs. Katan’s insights into her business and the growth of her empire have been enlightening and invaluable. While I was acquainted with her previously, this experience has deepened our understanding of her and her contributions. In the context of the show’s second season, the dynamics have evolved, becoming more vibrant and dramatic. Recognizing the global impact of the show, there is a heightened awareness of its significance. All participants must remain authentic to our fans, followers, and those who appreciate our work. This understanding has translated into a collective commitment to enhance our efforts and deliver an even more compelling experience. The commitment to punctuality and professionalism, whether in meetings or during filming, has been notably elevated as everyone strives to contribute to the show’s continued success.
Masala: Have you ever been in a situation where mixing personal and professional aspects caused problems in a group? If so, how did you deal with it? Similar to Season 1, where the group criticizes you for having sponsors, and Zeina suggests not inviting her to events that combine business and personal matters.
Farhana: To be frank, when it comes to my events, I extend invitations to both friends and business associates. Those who are interested are welcome to attend, and those who aren’t can decline. My role as a social media personality involves collaborations with brands, so I always seek partnerships that can bring value to my events. Regarding Zeina, I believe she may have gotten a bit carried away and expressed things sarcastically. Based on my understanding, she’s accustomed to attending various events, including my birthday, so it wasn’t a new experience for her. I don’t see any issue with blending work and social circles because supportive friends comprehend the nature of my profession. It seems she might desire more attention from me during events. However, managing events involves catering to all guests, and it’s not feasible to focus solely on one person. It’s challenging to please everyone simultaneously, and I hope she understands the dynamics of hosting such gatherings.

Masala: How would you describe your relationship with Zeina and Safa during the shoot of season 1?
Farhana: Apart from what happened at my birthday, the girls were okay. I was not very close to them during that period but as time passed we became better friends, not going to lie – it took some time.
Masala: Why did you choose to have a private wedding as a very public person?
Ebraheem: The decision to share details about our wedding was not solely mine; rather, it was a mutual agreement between my wife and I. My wife values her privacy, evident in her limited presence on social media platforms, particularly Instagram. This choice is influenced by both her inclinations and the cultural norms prevalent in Abu Dhabi, which tend to be more conservative, favouring a low-key lifestyle. Out of respect for my wife’s preferences, which align with the majority of her wishes, we opted to keep our wedding private. As her husband, I must safeguard her well-being, and I recognize that exposing her to public attention might create challenges she would find difficult to navigate. This decision was a prearranged agreement between us, made before we finalized our decision to get married.

Masala: Before the commencement of the show, did you have pre-existing personal relationships with any of the cast members, or were your interactions and dynamics entirely formed during the filming process?
Farhana: I knew everyone on the show from before except for Safa and Fadi who I had met on the show.
Masala: We know you faced a lot of backlash during Onam for wearing an Indian traditional white wrap-around for men, which is referred to as the ‘munde’. What are your thoughts on this?
Ebraheem: My father instilled in us the value of appreciating the diversity present in Dubai, encompassing various religions and nationalities. This principle has guided my interactions, particularly with my employees, many of whom are of Indian origin and celebrate festivals such as Onam. In treating my employees as an extension of my family, I sought to foster a sense of unity during the celebration of Onam, emphasizing our shared identity. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the nuanced perspectives within Islam regarding the celebration of certain occasions. Some scholars assert that while congratulating others on their festivities is permissible, actively participating in the celebration implies approval of the associated religious practices. As a devout Muslim, I hold deep respect for my religion, recognizing its teachings on respecting other faiths. The sensitivity of this subject arises from the delicate balance between embracing unity, tolerance, and mutual understanding, while also upholding the tenets of one’s own religious beliefs. I firmly believe that people often seek reasons to criticize, segregate, and divide, when our focus should be on fostering unity, tolerance, and respect. A world characterized by peace, happiness, and harmony can only be achieved when individuals acknowledge, respect, and understand one another. The root cause of many conflicts, in my view, lies in the artificial divisions created by those who perpetuate segregation and animosity. I firmly believe that the essence of humanity lies in unity and tolerance, as we are all inherently equal as human beings. It is my conviction that embracing these principles can contribute to a world where everyone feels acknowledged, valued, and accepted, fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding.

Masala: What are some struggles of being a public figure on the internet, an influencer, and a single mom – do you think the combination of these 3 changes the way people look at you?
Farhana: The challenge is undeniably present, as there are high expectations from everyone. They envision me as a super mom to my son, Aydin while simultaneously expecting me to effortlessly manage the demands of being a single mom, juggling work and maintaining a balanced life. The pressure to consistently keep my audience content and inspired is intense, and at times, I find myself yearning to disconnect and unwind.
Masala: What are some qualities that attracted you to your wonderful wife? Can you tell us a bit more about her?
Ebraheem: In essence, my frequent engagement with social media exposes me to a diverse array of individuals, including influencers, models, and designers. While many of these individuals possess striking beauty and kindness, some tend to adopt a more superficial persona, feeling compelled to project a facade to appease a broader audience. The juxtaposition of these experiences, coupled with their narratives and love stories, has, at times, been discouraging, leading me to redirect my attention elsewhere. My wife, on the other hand, stands in stark contrast to the aforementioned individuals. She embodies conservative values, prioritizes family, dedicates herself to her work and career, and holds strong religious convictions. This stark difference aligns more closely with my family values and personal lifestyle preferences. I am confident that her dedication and compatibility will foster harmony within our family, minimizing potential challenges and ensuring a seamless integration into our shared life.

Masala: Do people recognize you on the streets of Dubai, and have there been any negative experiences with fans face-to-face?
Farhana: I love my fans in Dubai! They are always so nice to me when I bump into them. Always so warm and loving, I’ve not had any negative situations until now.
Masala: Has starring in Dubai Bling increased sales of your business Forever Rose Café?
Ebraheem: Our growth has been remarkable, experiencing an increase of approximately 35%. What’s particularly noteworthy is the transformation of our cafe into a Dubai landmark, with people from around the world making it a destination in their travels. The cafe has become iconic, attracting visitors who specifically come to Dubai to experience it. The demand has been such that we’ve even had to set up a luggage room to accommodate transit travelers who prioritize a visit to our cafe during their stopover. It’s heartening to witness the genuine connection people seek with Dubai Bling and our cafe. Many visitors express a desire to capture a moment with either myself or a representative from Dubai Bling, creating a tangible link to our brand. This connection is invaluable to them, allowing them to feel a part of our story. Additionally, the authenticity of Dubai Bling has come into question in the media, with persistent inquiries about whether the show is scripted. I can confidently state that my business serves as a testament to the reality of our experiences. As a legitimate business owner, I can vouch for the fact that Dubai Bling is not scripted. Our success is grounded in real-life stories and genuine business operations.
